REPORTING LINE:  Cost Planning & Finance Manager


To support the Decommissioning Project Delivery Manager & the Cost, Planning & Finance Manager with project planning, project controls & project delivery assurance activities for the Greater Dunlin Area Decommissioning Project.


The job holder is responsible for:

Project Risk Register

  • Updating the Project Risk Register, liaising with risk owners
  • Ensure mitigations actions are aligned with Planning tool (Primavera P6)
  • Prepare monthly Risk Summary and highlight changes for Management reviewProject Planning
  • Co-ordinate the monthly Project Planning meeting
  • Prepare agenda & record minutes/actions
  • Track & follow up actions ahead of project planning meetings
  • Maintain the project assumptions and definitions registers
  • Provide continuity/link between Project Plans & 28/90 day Plans

Project Delivery Assurance

  • Weekly review of Key Activities / milestones to identify & highlight key messages and impacts for the weekly Project Delivery Assurance preparation meeting
  • Review ‘Overdue’ activities and highlight key issues for discussion/follow up
  • Identify key activities for the coming 6 months
  • Follow up actions ahead of weekly meeting, highlighting areas of concern for discussion
  • Follow up on ‘Decision Papers’ as required


  • Engineering Degree
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas industry
  • Project exposure
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills


  • Strong technical understanding
  • Ability to communicate effectively within a multi-disciplined team and act as an integrator
  • Ability to constructively challenge Plan & Activity owners assumptions for consistency, logic and robustness
  • Flexibility to plan, prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Ability to present work at Management meetings
  • Budget awareness
